18th Edition of Mini Basket Festival “Rajko Zizic” will be held in Belgrade at Belgrade Fairground (hall no. 3) from January 12th to January 16th, 2018.
Deadline for applications for participation at the Festival is January 1st, 2018.
Girls and boys will be divided into four age groups during the competition: kids born in 2007 and younger, born in 2008 and younger, born in 2009 and younger, and finally born in 2010 and younger. Each club can have more than one team in a certain age group, and the team consists of 15 players.
All games will be played on five basketball courts with rims set at the height of 2.60 m and 2.75 m, and all the games will be played with balls size “5”. There will be also two grass courts set where Mini Basket on Grass will be played (there will be an artificial grass set for this occasion).
During the competition traditionally Clinic for Basketball Coaches will be organized – called “From Mini Basket to Basketball”. There will be organized lectures for different age categories that mini basket is dealing with, and those are:
• Ages 3-4 – Mini Basket Gymboree,
• Ages 5-6 – Mini Basket Classroom,
• Ages 7-8 – Mini Basket Workshop,
• Ages 9-10 – Educational Practice Mini Basketball,
• Ages 11-12 – Practice with Stations.
Names of the lecturers will be announced timely. During the Clinic all the playing and coaching equipment for mini basket – such as adjustable basketball backboards – will be presented.
Presence at this Clinic is mandatory for all the coaches who are working with mini basket age categories, and coaching license for mini basket will not be issued for coaches that haven’t participated at this Clinic (Coaches who are members of Serbian Association of Basketball Coaches).
All the participants arriving from outside Belgrade should contact us timely and tell us the numbers of the people in their delegations in order to make reservations at the nearby Hostel, or Students Dorm (that we have cooperation with), and also there is a possibility of accommodation at the Hotel “Srbija” (Ustanicka street, Belgrade).
All the participants at the Festival will get medals and trophies.

Red Cross Serbia and UNITAS organization, which deals with fighting against human and children trafficking, will be holding Workshops during the Festival.
Mini Basket – Maxi Fun!!!
There is no participation fee! You can participate with as many teams for as many days that you want for free!
Your team is not obliged to participate all days – you can pick the dates that you want to participate (you can come for only one or two days that you choose, or you can come for all the five days).
Regarding the accommodation and transfer of your team(s) – it is on you expense (you and your team has to pay for it).
Regarding the accommodation we can offer you two options – accommodation sites that we have cooperation with for many years now.
Hotel Srbija (www.hotelsrbija.com) has offered us and accommodation in triple rooms (for teams – kids) – bed and breakfast type for 15 euro per day/per person, and half board (bed, breakfast and dinner) would be 19 euro per day/per person. Excluded from this price is a local fee which is 155 dinars per person/per day (which is approximately 1.2 euro), and for kids under the age of 12 is half of that price (around 0.6 euro per day/per person). This is a 3 star hotel, but is not very convenient if you don’t have your own transportation (bus) since it is almost 6 km away from the venue, but less than 10 minutes by car).
Hostel Fair (www.hostelfair.rs) is just across the street from the venue (3-5 minutes walking), but it’s capacity is 18 rooms with total of 105 beds. Rooms can have from 3 to 8 beds. Price of the bed per night / per person is 10 euro. Excluded from this price is a local fee which is 155 dinars per person/per day (which is approximately 1.2 euro), and for kids under the age of 12 is half of that price (around 0.6 euro per day/per person). In case you want breakfast – it is additional 4 euro per person/per day, in case you want lunch there – it is additional 6 euro, and dinner is another 6 euro if you want it there. All rooms are equipped air conditioning, night tables, lockers.
